All artisans invited to the “Creative Social Day” on February 17 at the Rogersville Armory | Rogersville

Studies have shown that individuals who are socially connected are happier, healthier and live longer. We all want that, but in today’s world it’s hard to connect.

Everyone knows that bonding around hobbies is one of the best ways to feel connected. You can learn new skills or improve the ones you already know.

Creative Social Day will first meet on Thursday, February 17 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tennessee National Guard Armory located at 208 Frontage Road, Rogersville, TN 37857.

The creative social day is an opportunity to take inspiration from a trade or hobby and make new friendships. If you are an artisan of any kind and are looking for the opportunity to connect with other artisans in our region, this day is for you. Bring your crafts with you and let’s get started.

Men’s and women’s, sewing and quilting, crochet and knitting, jewelry making and beadwork, cabinet makers and sculptors, metalworkers, paper crafts, scrapbooking, origami, stamping, card making, macrame, treasure bin art (recycled), dollar tree artisans.

People will group together according to their profession. We will be using the drill hall so people can disperse and meet safely to enjoy camaraderie while working with others.

Encourage your friends and craft groups to come together for a fun and creative day. We help groups meet in a safe environment where you don’t need to host at home. We are helping to reunite artisan groups.

Wilma Fugate will be a guest instructor for the sewing and quilting group.

She will teach you how to make your own Microwave Cozies. Please bring your own portable sewing machine or sew by hand. Fabric and wadding will be provided. For this project.
