Festive crowds throng malls for Eid al-Adha activities

Eid al-Adha activities in major malls and malls in Qatar continue to attract many people with live performances, acrobatic and traveling shows and various events for families and children.
Until July 15 from 5 to 9 p.m., a world-famous African acrobatic circus show, combined with tightrope walks, as well as captivating music and dance, has become the major attraction at the Mall of Qatar (MoQ).
Part of the MoQ program includes gifts for children, as well as various activities such as face painting, modeling clay, arts and crafts, kinetic sand, lego and origami.
“As a family, we are happy to see and participate in these very engaging indoor activities this Eid. The organizers did a great job because a lot of people like it and it helps kids stay away from mobile devices and be more active,” said Filipino expat Dondie B.
He added that they find it enjoyable to get around shopping malls with the Doha Metro as it saves them money and encourages them to walk instead of traveling by car.
At Doha Festival City (DHFC), several activities – as part of its Summer Festival 2022 – also attracted many attendees. Until July 16, some of these activities featured world-class artists such as bubble blowers, digital illusionists nicknamed Les French Twins, football freestylers, dance leaders, shadow artists and jugglers, among others.
Held in the mall’s Center Court, the program also includes arts and crafts activities, face painting, balloon twisting, Boogie Storm and a meet-and-greet with favorite cartoon characters.
Besides a children’s entertainment corner, open from 3 p.m. until the mall’s closing time, visitors can also participate in virtual reality and sports activities from 10 a.m., according to the DHFC.
Live shows on MoQ’s Oasis Stage wowed audiences with presentations from hoola hoop performers, storm troopers, glass balancers, kitchen dancers and football freestylers who captivated the crowd with their skills and their spectacular tricks.
Shoppers at the Gulf Mall, meanwhile, were treated to entertainment with its illusionists and clown shows for three days, ending Monday. Other locations where similar activities have taken place include the Royal Plaza Mall while The Pearl-Qatar is holding its Eid celebrations until tomorrow (July 13).
Residents and visitors, especially children aged 5-7 and 8-14, will have the chance to participate in an Eid LED light painting at the Msheireb museums tomorrow (July 13) and the day after tomorrow.
