With fewer Covid-19 restrictions in place, managements at various malls have gone all out to celebrate the occasions.
Decorations such as dragon figureheads, drums and lanterns in different shades of red and gold adorn the malls.
With such grand decorations and displays this year, you don’t want to miss a trip to one of the malls to check it out.
Pavilion Kuala Lumpur

Boasting a lantern-themed Chinese New Year, the KL Pavilion is a must-visit as it is adorned with shades of red decorations, including its red lanterns.
In collaboration with award-winning modern origami artist Master Chen Xiao, the mall features a spectacular 30-foot Pavilion paper art garden that depicts the tigers of the five elements.
Other than that, a shooting location is where two dragons are perched with red lanterns or on its main stage.
Art lovers shouldn’t miss a special art exhibit featuring the works of mural artist Thomas Powell located inside a curtain-like archway outside the mall.
Bukit Jalil Pavilion

Pavilion’s latest branch in Bukit Jalil is ready to welcome you with its multicolored cherry blossoms and lanterns hanging overhead.
Interested shoppers and visitors can also enter a game to find the mall’s “Yoohoo Neighborhood Friendly Pet Tiger” for a chance to win rewards.
Suria KLCC

The replica pagoda adorned with lanterns in the middle of the Petronas Twin Towers is truly a sight to behold for anyone entering the mall.
Standing at a height of 70 feet, the three-tiered pagoda is a place to take photos from different angles around the structure.
Inside, the mall’s central courtyard has been transformed into an ancient Chinese palace with replica cherry blossom trees that provide a wonderful backdrop for any photos.
The Gardens KL Mall

Hosting an exhibition of CNY artifacts, The Gardens Mall is a great place to take photos for anyone who wishes to imagine they are in a fancy restaurant with traditional arts and crafts around them.
Other items on display are ceramic vases, red tiffin holders, and adorable teapots and mugs.
1 Utama Mall

Having gold as the main color with the theme “Regal Kingdom of Spring”, this is your chance to see the 12 zodiac animals covered in gold along with their features in the CNY exhibit.
Those born in the year of the tiger will definitely want to take a photo with the gigantic tiger statue in the middle of the exhibit along with some information about its characteristics.
Stroll along the main exhibit and you’ll see little stalls selling cookies, cooking utensils and even clothes and might buy a thing or two!
Mid Valley Shopping Center

The first thing that will greet you from above when you enter the mall’s CNY exhibit is a yellow dragon’s head.
And as you go, replica cherry blossoms will catch your eye and you can even stop to take some pretty pictures.
What is interesting about the decor of this mall is that you can see a variety of Chinese drums on display with red and yellow lanterns.
MyTown Cheras

Themed “Spring Splendor,” the mall features a vibrant cherry blossom display. and huge adorable stuffed animals from all 12 zodiac animals.
Don’t forget to take cute pictures of the zodiac animals with your children or if you bring them with you.
Pyramid of the Sun

Fancy a wishing tree where you can formulate your wishes?
Sunway Pyramid has its own wishing tree draped in red colors where wishes can be written in the red paper provided.
The mall has also provided a small section for the little ones to play Chinese checkers.
