Did you know that the McIntosh Memorial Library has a 3D printer? The 3D printer is just one of the many tools your local public library has to help you get creative! Join us on Saturday, March 12, from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. inside the library for a day of art creators.

During the one-day event, we’ll debut the resources at your disposal, including the 3D printer, a Cricut machine, sewing machines, an Ellison cutting machine, origami paper, and more. again ! 3D printing demonstrations are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. A greeting card-making workshop with Kathy Ugo is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The day’s activities are for guests ages 8 and up. No registration is required. Please call us with any questions at 608-637-7151 ext. 6.

Thanks to Liv Marit Haakenstad from Hamar, Norway for being our special guest at the library last week. Liv hosted a two-hour Q&A program with people about Norway! Scandinavian programming has been at the heart of the McIntosh Memorial Library for several years. We offered programs ranging from language learning, author tours, food sharing to hygge. If you would like to see additional Scandinavian programming offered, please let us know. If there is enough interest, we will bring back a new slate of programs starting this spring. Please refer all ideas to Library Director Trina Erickson at [email protected]

Calling all artists! The McIntosh Memorial Library has a beautiful art wall and art display case available to display your work. If you are a local artist and would like to display original pieces on the wall or in a locked display case, please let us know. One of the unique features of the McIntosh Memorial Library is the rotating artwork display. Each artist brings a new look to the library every month and the creativity is appreciated by many. We still have openings this year and would love to talk with you about being a featured artist. Come see us or call us for more information.

It’s only March, but planning is well underway for our annual summer reading program. The theme for summer 2022 is “Oceans of Possibilities”. The theme offers many opportunities as we can celebrate our beautiful oceans and the fascinating creatures that make the ocean their home! Our program will once again give participants the chance to win books for their personal library. Plus, we’ll have lots of fun programs scheduled throughout the summer months for youngsters to enjoy. We look forward to sharing all of our plans with you soon!
