Jake montgomery

Brookside >> Football

Senior >> Large Receiver / Security

On the court: Montgomery recorded eight catches for 129 yards and two touchdowns against Clearview. He made two tackles in defense and helped prevent a dangerous Clearview offense from completing deep passes.

Off the Field: Also plays basketball and baseball. He likes to go out with friends. The preferred subject is English. Favorite food is Chicken Alfredo. The favorite movie is “The Adults”. The favorite TV show is “American Horror Story”. The NFL’s favorite team is the Browns, the MLB is the Braves, and the NBA is the Thunder. Montgomery has yet to choose college but is considering playing sports.

Amber Korey

Lake Avon >> Tennis

Freshman >> First Singles

On the court: Won wins over Hathaway Brown, Amherst, North Ridgeville and Shaker Heights, and placed third at the Lorain County tournament and is 6-1 in the SWC in the first single.

Off the Court: Korey’s favorite sport is tennis. She grew up playing and was surrounded by tennis. Some of her favorite memories are vacations with family and friends. Her favorite school subject is social studies. She has two siblings, her twin sister who plays second singles and her younger brother who also plays tennis. Her sister is always there, whether it’s playing tennis with her or helping her with her homework. Korey would like to thank his coaches, coach Brett Anderson, Tariq Ismail and Vlad Anghel.

Rachel Meyer

Lake Avon >> Volleyball

Freshman >> Setter

On the pitch: Out of 267 attempts, Meyer recorded 104 assists, four rrrors for an assists percentage of 0.374 or 11.5 assists per set. On serve, she had six aces and got 16 points. 21 excavations and two blocks. Assisted Avon Lake to four consecutive wins, one in conference and three non-conference, including a win over Brecksville Broadview Heights, which is ranked among the top 25 in Ohio. Won the Brecksville-Broadview Heights tournament.

Off the Field: Meyer’s favorite subject is science, her favorite food is Chicken Fingers with Ranch Dressing, and she’s a loyal Browns fan. Love hanging out with friends, going to Cedar Point and Top Golf.

Maddie harrington

Avon >> Cross Country

Second year

On the course: Was fifth in the Seneca East Stars, Stripes and Lights meet, helping the Eagles win a tag team championship. Set the third fastest time in school history at 19: 20.68.

Off-course: his favorite sports are cross-country and track and field. His favorite memory is cross country ski camp 2021. His hobbies include biking and paddle boarding. His favorite musicians are Taylor Swift and Harry Styles and his favorite sports teams are the Browns and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Danny Donegan

Lake Avon >> Golf

Senior

On the Course: Donegan shot a 73 at the Midview Invitational to help Avon Lake win the tournament. Through nine holes he shot a 38 against Elyria and 37 against Bay Village

Off the Course: Donegan’s favorite sporting memory is winning a playoff to make it to the district tournament in his junior year section. His hobbies include golf, basketball, watching sports and hanging out with friends. Her favorite school subject is math, her favorite food is pizza, her favorite movie is “Moneyball”. Her favorite TV show is “The Office”, her favorite musical artist is J Cole and her favorite sports teams are the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Indians and Notre Dame Football.

Sophie flemister

Vermilion >> Tennis

Senior >> First singles

On the pitch: Defeated opponent Sandusky Perkins, 6-0, 6-0. Flemister improved to 7-5.

Off the field: Flemister hopes to play tennis and volleyball, and play boules in college. Besides tennis, she plays marching band, bowling and volleyball, as well as several high school clubs. These include the National Honor Society, GSA, Coding Club, Speech and Debate, and Lio Club. Her favorite subjects are physics and robotics. Outside of school, she enjoys folding origami and listening to music. She is pursuing a career in mechanical and aerospace engineering and she also enjoys reading and exploring the different mechanics of the two fields.

Ryan sanborn

North Olmsted >> Football

Senior >> Central midfielder

On the pitch: Scored two goals and two assists in an 8-0 win over Valley Forge. Sanborn has scored 12 goals in six games.

Off the pitch: Sanborn’s favorite food is dumplings, his favorite movie is The Bee Movie. His favorite TV show is “Brooklyn 99” and his favorite Premier League team is Tottenham. Sanborn plans to play collegially at the Division I level at Bowling Green or at IUPUI.

Amherst Steele >> Volleyball

Junior >> Exterior cutter

On the court: Returning from an injury this season, Hall helped the Comets break a 2-0 record against Olmsted Falls and powerful Sylvania Northview. Hall recorded 47 kills, five blocks, 13 digs, three aces and 10 serves received.
