Following the release of Pokemon Legends: Arceus, a fan art decides to make origami Arceus, a Mythical Pokemon found in the game.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus was released just over a week ago, and many gamers have been checking out the game ever since. With a story set in the ancient region of Hisui, players are tasked with learning more about the many Pokémon in the land and completing the region’s first Pokedex. Among the Pokémon to discover in the game is the Mythical Arceus.
First introduced in Generation 4, Arceus is a Mythical Normal-type Pokémon. With an equestrian-like design and known as “The Original One” in lore due to its godlike attributes, it’s hard not to recognize this Pokemon. While Arceus is featured in Pokemon Legends: Arceus, players can only battle it after completing the Pokedex. Recently, a fan decided to honor this Pokemon in a unique way.
In a post on Reddit, a user known as ino87origami shared a photo of a recent origami he created. What made this particular design intriguing was that it was based on the mythical Pokemon Arceus. In the image, the origami had the same distinct shape as the Pokémon seen in the game. However, this work by Arceus stood out because the artist chose to make the design in purple and green paper, as opposed to white and gold. A highlight was that the creator even managed to include the large mane seen on the back of the creature’s head.
In addition to posting an image of the artwork on Reddit, ino87origami shared a video tutorial on YouTube. In the video, the artist showed the many steps involved in creating the Mythical Pokémon. Impressively, they revealed that not only did they fold the Pokemon themselves, but they also designed the design. According to the tutorial, it took the creator over an hour and 20 minutes to fold the origami design.
Since posting this origami on Reddit and YouTube, many fans have noticed the awesome Arceus origami based on Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Luckily, for those who enjoyed the design, it was far from the only designer origami they had created. Some of the other Pokémon they created included Greninja, Tyranitar, Excadrill, and Rayquaza. Like the origami of Arceus, these Pokemon designs included tutorials for those who wanted to attempt crafting them.
It’s exciting to see passionate fans of Pokemon continue to create new artwork based on Pokémon found in the series. Besides this Arceus origami, another fan recently created actual Poke Balls based on the design seen in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It will be interesting to see what talented fans like ino87origami come up with in the coming days. Maybe they will decide to do more origami based on Pokemon Legends: Arceuslike the Hisuian Growlithe.
Pokemon Legends: Arceus is available for the Nintendo Switch.
