To celebrate the Year of the Tiger, the University of Scranton’s Asian Studies Department hosted a workshop on Thursday for community members and guests featuring several hands-on activities, including a chopstick contest, a Chinese calligraphy lesson and a Japanese origami tutorial.
The event also offered several presentations on different East Asian Lunar New Year celebrations, the cultural significance of chopsticks and the diversity of East Asian cuisine, according to the university.
